Brussels is all decked out for Christmas and was just a reminder of the how we are so blessed!!! Today we spent the day in Brussels recuperating and debriefing our time in Liberia. The team is excited about seeing their friends and family and will arriving in Midland Sunday night at 9:20pm. God has been amazing how He has poured out understanding of His love not only for the people of Liberia but the our fellow teammates and their families.
Tim summarizes our time in Liberia with a renewed sense of the power of the presence of Christ being the answer to a people who know the provision of God, in their state of need.
This morning the whole team went to the orphanage and were greeted by smiling, cheering children. The kids were delighted with the now famous “chicken skit” performed by Tim, Randy, Karen, Ryan and Mike. It will be hard to leave the children and especially the orphanage workers who have become dear friends.
Tim Reed inspected the latrine and two wells and some of the men made the trek to the well with multiple containers to fill with water—making a stop at the crocodile pen where two crocodiles are being grown for slaughter. Anyone for croc roping?
In the afternoon the men finished the shelves in the medical clinic and the women took inventory of all the medical supplies. We are seeing a lot of our tasks being completed and have felt the Lord’s leading and protection at every turn.
At the Wednesday night service Pastor Wesley spoke from I John on the love of God and we ended with a time of prayer. We prayed for our children, the ones who are sick with malaria and the ones away from the Lord feeling such a common bond of faith
Today we worked on the medical clinic while some went to the Greater Love Home for Children . Karen Watts has a special interest in some of the orphans here at the Greater Love Home for Children. These two 7 month old twins are in the process of being adopted by her son. How amazing is God to allow a future grandmother to see the beauty of these sweet little girls. Watch the video to see more!!!
Today we went to Greater Love Bible Baptist Church . Pastor Wesley taught Sunday school and the main service. The choir was awesome and Diane said it moved her to tears as soon as she heard them. (Here is where I am suppose to leave out the part that Randy cried to) The Church was packed full and Pastor Wesley delivered a power message about Abraham and Isaac and how we are called to do the same with our lives as we lay ourselves down at the feet of Christ.
After church we had time to hang out and love on the hundreds of kids that live in this neighborhood. Diane started making the gospel bracelets and the next thing you know kids are coming for blocks to be involved and hear the gospel.
The team as a whole is doing amazing due in no small part by all your prayer covering us as we continue to be available to all God has prepared for us to do.
First day down and we have started helping with the electrical needs with Pastor Wesley church and medical clinic. The ladies went to the orphanage to see the kids and cant wait to get back there on Monday. After we finished the church we cleaned and got it ready for service tomorrow cant wait to see the rest of the church family!!
The team has made it safe and sound in Monrovia Liberia!!!! With all the bags as well which is a such a blessing from God!!! The blog is being a little weird but we will try and post as much as possible.
